Article: San Leandro shuttle service funding hits snag Chamber of Commerce pulls support for assessment district

SAN LEANDRO -- The San Leandro Chamber of Commerce has decided to pull its support from the formation of an assessment district that would tax certain businesses to help pay for a free shuttle service.

The chamber's board of directors voted to oppose the West San Leandro Shuttle Business Improvement District last Thursday after members said they did not want it. The chamber had been a proponent of the district before then.
