SAN FRANCISCO -- For history's sake, let's hope Willie Mays
doesn't stop supplying Barry Bonds sage advice now that the two men
have finally made their rarefied rendezvous at career home run
No.660.
Thankfully, after Bonds launched his latest poke for posterity
into McCovey Cove on Monday afternoon -- a certifiably prodigious
blow for the books -- it didn't sound as if Willie will be stepping
out of Bonds' spotlight even though he is no longer a milestone
target.
Near the end of the postgame press conference, when Bonds
effectively swung and missed at a question regarding what comes next
in his phenomenal baseball career, Mays quickly grabbed a microphone
