Article: Parcel tax votes give school district hope Hayward trustees consider survey to weigh sentiment for similar plan

HAYWARD -- The apparent success of a pair of parcel tax measures designed to raise additional revenue for two financially-stressed school districts in the Bay Area has created a sense of optimism among Hayward trustees, who are in the early stages of studying whether city residents would support such a measure.

Voters in communities served by the San Ramon Valley Unified School District and the Dixie Elementary School District in Terra Linda and Lucas Valley appeared to have approved parcel tax proposals to help bail out those districts in two separate special elections Tuesday.
