Washington goaltender Olaf Kolzig mentioned how flattered
he was last week that Montreal Coach Alain Vigneault had compared
him to Atlanta Braves pitcher Greg Maddux in the same sentence that
he compared Buffalo goaltender Dominik Hasek to San Diego Padres ace
Kevin Brown. Vigneault apparently got the reference backward,
however, because it has been Brown who has dominated Maddux
recently, and it has been Kolzig who has been beating Hasek.
Tonight was no exception as Kolzig (30 saves) earned his
second shutout of the season in the Capitals' 1-0 victory over the
Sabres at Marine Midland Arena. Hasek was almost as dominant, making
35 saves, but he could not stop winger Yogi ...
