Not too long ago, Carisa Robertson decided she wanted to redo her
bathroom floor. So she ripped out all the tile. She removed the
vanity. And then she panicked. Without a clue as to how to proceed,
she and her son Kyle were relegated to brushing their teeth in the
kitchen sink.
Robertson's predicament became national news, of a sort, for her
son contacted "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." And as part of the "Have
Houston Do It" segment, DeGeneres' sidekick Houston Rose retiled, and
redid, the entire bathroom.
It was a huge blow to the Do It Yourself crowd. And it got all
those HGTV, Oxygen and Lifetime fans second-guessing themselves. Is
it really too hard to put in your own flooring?
