Article: San Leandro closed till new year

SAN LEANDRO -- In a continuing effort to save money, the city will close its doors for the week leading up to the New Year's Day holiday.

San Leandro City Hall's administrative offices will be closed from Monday through Friday to provide immediate cost savings in response to budget uncertainties the city is facing, said Jane McCrea, public information officer.

McCrea said having the offices closed will save the city thousands of dollars in combined salary and energy costs. The closure has been scheduled to coincide with the winter holiday, when demands for services are typically lower.
