IT'S simply impossible to catch every band scheduled to play the
13th annual Noise Pop festival, beginning Tuesday and continuing
through Feb. 27 at various venues in San Francisco.
Choices, often very tough ones, have to be made.
The competition for your eyes and ears doesn't get any more
difficult than on Feb. 25 when Noise Pop presents, among others, Nada
Surf at the Great American Music Hall, Amon Tobin at Bimbo's 365 Club
and Bettie Serveert at Cafe Du Nord.
But cautious indie-rock fans should definitely think twice before
skipping Bettie Serveert. If they do, recent history has shown that
they might not have another chance to catch the mesmerizing Dutch
band this decade.
