Patuxent High School senior Sam Leins knows about making saves
as the goalkeeper of the Panthers soccer team. Tuesday night, he
made one on the wrestling mat.
Leins won a key match over La Plata's Dennis Williamson at 171
pounds to help Patuxent to a 37-32 victory over the host Warriors in
both teams' dual meet opener. The schools saw each other at last
weekend's tournament at Chopticon and may wrestle at this weekend's
Lackey Tournament.
Tuesday, there were few close individual matches -- all but
one ended in either a major decision or a pin -- but the close team
score kept tensions high.
The meet was tied at 28 after the 160-pound match, creating
