THERE ARE dog people and cat people, and then there are those of
us who love both. If you fall into the latter category and have
decided you would like to add a cat to your existing pet family, it
can be done. It will take some time, patience and supervision, and if
you're lucky, your dog and cat will become best friends. But if they
don't become best friends, they can at least reach a mutual accord
and tolerate each other.
Introducing a cat into a dog home should be done gradually and
under careful supervision. Before you bring the cat home, prepare a
space for her in a room that is totally off limits for the dog. Let
