Article: Filing deadline extended for 4-year seats

BURLINGAME -- The filing deadline for candidates seeking four- year seats on the Burlingame City Council in November will be extended, now that Mayor Joe Galligan has decided not to run for re- election. The new deadline is 5 p.m. Aug. 17, said City Clerk Doris Mortensen.

Vice Mayor Cathy Baylock filed for re-election Tuesday afternoon. Also running for a four-year term are incumbent Councilwoman Rosalie O'Mahony and local resident Paul Prendiville. Both filed last week.

Other potential candidates who have expressed interest in a four- year term, but have not filed, are Planning Commissioner Ann Keighran and Traffic, Safety and Parking Commissioner Gene Condon.
