HAYWARD -- Cal State East Bay might not have joined its neighbors
in Berkeley and Palo Alto on the Princeton Reviews Best 361 Colleges
list, but there were no tears on campus Tuesday.
For the second year in a row, the well-read college guide has
designated California State University, East Bay, as one of the best
colleges in the West -- one of 40 in California and one of five in
the California State University system.
The students surveyed by the Princeton Review praised the Hayward
campuss serene views, small class sizes and proximity to San
Francisco. Some noted the diversity of the student body in terms of
age, ethnicity and background.
