SAN FRANCISCO -- Actor Danny Glover wants to see Crips gang co-
founder Stanley Tookie Williams live.
At a packed Victoria Theatre in San Francisco, Glover said Sunday
the work Williams has done behind bars is an example that breathes
life not only into gang members but into us.
The event, a fund-raiser for the San Francisco Save Tookie
Coalition, included a speech by Barbara Becnel, a co-author of
Williams childrens books about the tragedy of gang life.
The night ended with a screening of the movie Redemption: The Stan
Tookie Williams Story, in which actor Jamie Foxx plays Williams.
Williams, a co-founder of the Crips gang, is sentenced to die of
lethal injection Dec. 13 for murdering ...
