SHE MAY LACK the charisma of Erin Brockovich and the passion of
Norma Rae, but Josey Aimes sure can suffer.
In "North Country," an Oscar showcase for Charlize Theron, Josey
gets battered by her husband, cold-shouldered by her dad, harassed by
male co-workers, rejected by friends and called a whore by her son.
