President Bush nominated a Bay Area scholar Monday to chair his
Council of Economic Advisers.
Edward Paul Lazear, 57 -- a senior fellow at the Hoover
Institution and the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research
as well as a professor of human resources, management and economics
in Stanford Universitys Graduate School of Business -- already is a
member of the Presidents advisory Tax Reform Panel, to which he was
named in 2005.
Bush now wants him to succeed Ben Bernanke, who is replacing Alan
Greenspan as chairman of the Federal Reserve. The post ...
