Article: Bush names local professor to chair economic advisers

President Bush nominated a Bay Area scholar Monday to chair his Council of Economic Advisers.

Edward Paul Lazear, 57 -- a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research as well as a professor of human resources, management and economics in Stanford Universitys Graduate School of Business -- already is a member of the Presidents advisory Tax Reform Panel, to which he was named in 2005.
