KDF Communities and the city of San Bruno recently celebrated a
public/private partnership that is charting a new course for
affordable housing in San Bruno: The Village at the Crossing, a new
senior community. More than 50 people attended the event at 1101
National Ave. (the construction site) across from The Shops at
Tanforan, a newly renovated retail and dining destination.
"As you may know, San Mateo County has in its population one of
the highest percentages of seniors in the entire state," San Mateo
County Supervisor Mark Church said. "And our population continues to
grow as baby boomers now join the ranks of seniors. One of the
