THE two biggest CD releases today belong to Pearl Jam and Tool.
And while they're likely to debut in the top two spots, it's tough to
say with any certainty which will sell more copies in its first week
of release.
As of Friday, Amazon had Tool's "10,000 Days" ranked as the Web
site's top pre-order. Pearl Jam's new eponymous effort was No.2.
Pearl Jam is certainly the bigger name. But Tool boasts some of
the most die-hard fans in the business. If you want me to venture a
guess -- which, indeed, my editor does -- I'd say Pearl Jam wins by a
nose.
Other new releases include albums by Jewel, Gomez and Mobb Deep.
All these CDs hit stores today.
