SONOMA -- Kurt Busch has never won a road race in his six seasons
in NASCAR Nextel Cup, but he has fond memories of one victory at
Sears Point.
The 2004 Cup champion, who has switched teams this year to the
Dodge team of famed owner Roger Penske, was in a nostalgic mood
Thursday at a media conference for Sunday's Dodge/Save Mart 350 at
Infineon Raceway's twisting, hilly, 1.99-mile, 10-turn course.
"This road course has a special place in my heart because of the
win I had here in 1999," Busch said.
Just 20 years old at the time, the driver from Las Vegas won the
Southwest Series race in June of that year.
