Article: Blue Jays knock A's out of first

OAKLAND -- For 43 consecutive days, the A's woke up in either first place or in a tie for first place. But they won't this morning.

Esteban Loaiza gave back the lead as soon as he was handed one in the sixth inning, the A's squandered a couple of chances to break the game open, and Blue Jays closer B.J. Ryan recorded a six-out save to preserve the Toronto Blue Jays' 4-3 victory Friday night before 22,217 fans.

The game was delayed 15 minutes in the fourth inning. The lights warmed back up quickly and it had no impact on the game.

According to A's stadium operations, a vehicle hit a power pole on Coliseum Way, just north of the stadium. It affected the entire grid
