When Westmoor High School boys basketball coach Albert Yee decided
on a career change that involved stepping away from coaching, frosh-
soph coach Charles Ohman was promoted and named the new varsity
coach.
Nothing out of the ordinary about that. Except for Ohman being 74
years old.
"Charles has been an outstanding coach here at the frosh-soph
level," Westmoor principal Dick Morosi said. "He's very professional
and an excellent role model for the kids. He never uses inappropriate
language around students, referees or fans. He makes sure students
are disciplined, doesn't take any nonsense, but is fair. His teams
always play hard and are well-behaved."
