OAKLAND -- Oakland Police Cadet Chanelle Del Rosario's goal is to
become a police officer and someday work as a homicide investigator.
The 19-year-old this week picked up some first-hand experience of
what it will take.
Del Rosario is being praised by homicide investigators with
playing a major part in apprehending a murder suspect Tuesday by
going undercover and luring the man to an Emeryville coffee shop for
a date, where he was arrested.
"She did a great job," homicide Sgt. Brian Medeiros said Thursday.
"She outfoxed him. Without her help, it probably would have taken a
lot longer to get him."
