Article: San Ramon residents cry Fore! on golf course rezoning

SAN RAMON -- Sometimes, actions speak louder than words. At least, thats what residents who live near two city golf courses are hoping as they move forward with a ballot initiative.

The actions could come at a heavy cost to the city. Such an initiative could cost more than $160,000.

Opponents feel that their vocal -- and sometimes brash -- criticism of the ordinance has fallen on deaf ears at the city level. They have formed a committee -- Save Our Golf Courses as Open Spaces - - found legal representation and have collected about 300 of a required 2,835 signatures necessary to bring an initiative to the November 2007 ballot.
