Article: End week with art stroll

LIVERMORE -- You won't be able to spell downtown without A-R-T on Saturday.

The Tri-Valley Artists Guild is hosting ArtWalk 2006, from 10 to 5 p.m., that will fill downtown streets with an array of artistic displays and activities.

About 150 artists and their work will cover 50 locations during the fifth annual event. Last year, nearly 5,000 people flooded the streets.

"It is our major event," said David Collins, who sits on the guild's board of directors. "We exist mostly for producing ArtWalk and supporting artists, fundraising and trying to connect the people of Livermore with the art community. We try to connect them with edgier and avant-garde art."
