How are you going to spend your summer vacation?
That's a question America's travel and leisure industry would love
to have answered. Terrorism fears, the war with Iraq, SARS concerns,
fewer visitors from overseas, a recession economy and weak consumer
confidence haven't exactly kicked off the 2003 travel season with a
"bon voyage."
The thought of our citizenry spending vacations watching cable TV
or barbecuing on the backyard grill is a recurring nightmare for CEOs
whose companies make their money from more ambitious fun and games.
