A technological relic is making a surprising comeback: the home projector.

Once a fixture in American living rooms, slide and movie projectors have spent much of the past couple of decades in attics. Now, a new generation of projectors is emerging for people who have managed to outgrow their 60-inch TVs. The machines, which are still pricey but cheaper than many plasma screens, can magnify a variety of images including movies and videogames onto living-room walls.
