Today's recipe started out as a joke. When we first saw a magazine article on turning flour tortillas into lasagna noodles, we just had to laugh. Absurdity had reached new heights, we decided, and for the next several years we'd laugh every time the subject came up.

As it turns out, the joke was on us. When we read the ninth article on turning tortillas into lasagna noodles, we stopped laughing and started scratching our heads. We finally decided that maybe -- just maybe -- we should try this.

Guess what? Tortillas make delicious lasagna noodles, puffing up to resemble regular noodles. And the big bonus is you don't have to boil them.
