Ten Utah nursing homes, including one that was poised to have its
license yanked by the state, are on Consumer Reports' 2004 Nursing
Home Watch list because of problems spotted by inspectors.
That nursing home, Oakview Living Center in Provo, was under
sanctions issued by the state health department, including fines, a
restriction on accepting new residents and termination of its
license. Instead, the facility chose to close, state licensing
officials said.
In the national report released in late September, 1,717
facilities across the country are named, with the emphasis on the
fact that 10 percent of those nursing homes have been on every
nursing home list Consumer Reports has compiled ...
