FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Greater Fort Lauderdale bills itself as a "sun-sational" destination. And why not? With an average of 3,000 hours of sunshine each year, most days are perfect for any number of outdoor activities. (Luckily, the most recent rash of hurricanes, which decimated other parts of Florida, did little damage in Broward County.)
