Fifteen manufacturing operations -- including one in Utah -- have
earned the Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing through an
awards program administered by Utah State University's College of
Business.
The prize recognizes lean manufacturing among companies in the
United States, Canada and Mexico.
Autoliv Inc.'s facility in Tremonton, Box Elder County, was among
the recipients. The plant produces initiators and micro gas
generators for the company's air-bag and seat belt business and has
shown statistical improvement during the past three years. It has 450
employees.
Other recipients are:
BAE Systems' Fort Wayne Operations in Indiana. The company serves
