Article: Real Salt Lake gives up on search for outdoor practice facility

Leading up to Real Salt Lake's home opener last Saturday, some of the talk revolved around what a great home-field advantage the field turf at Rice-Eccles Stadium was for the expansion Major League Soccer franchise.

Unfortunately for RSL, playing its home games on turf puts the club at a disadvantage on the road playing on grass in every other stadium around the league except the MetroStars -- who also play on turf, but Salt Lake already made its only trip to New Jersey in its season opener.
