Singer/songwriter Gabby La La met her idol, Primus bassist/
vocalist Les Claypool, through a mutual friend -- Weapon of Choice
bassist Lonnie Marshall.
"I've known Lonnie for a while, and I went with him when he sat in
a session with Les for the 'Purple Onion' album," said La La during a
phone call from Los Angeles. "Funny thing was Les then asked me to
perform on the album, too."
La La's quirky style fit well with Claypool's experimental
workings. And they hit it off.
Now, a couple of years later, La La has a debut album, "Be Careful
What You Wish For . . .," in the stores, and she is currently on tour
with Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains. Not bad for a classical
sitarist who also ...
