I, for one, am glad that Gary Miner is finally coaching high
school baseball.
I think there are many Orem High athletes, parents and fans who
feel the same. Actually, I think everyone involved in baseball in
Utah Valley thinks it's a good thing that Miner accepted the Tigers'
head job last summer. It's always beneficial to the sport to have a
true baseball person mentoring young players.
Miner has had baseball in his veins since he was a young boy
growing up on the ball diamonds of central Springville. He honed his
skills, and gained more knowledge on the game, as he moved on to star
at Springville High from 1981-83 and then as a member of the BYU
baseball team from 1987-89. In his senior ...
