Dr. Laura Schlessinger, the sharp-tongued talk-show therapist, is
just about the hottest thing on radio these days -- challenging even
the redoubtable Rush Limbaugh in several markets. The thought
occurs: If this woman -- whose doctorate is in physiology, for
heaven's sake -- can get rich on the advice circuit, why can't a
mild-mannered journalist? Syndication executives might consider the
