Cheese plant managers sentenced

The former managers of the Alma Cheese plant were sentenced Monday in Wabaunsee County District Court for the the theft of thousands of dollars from the company.

Aaron Miller and his wife, Kimberly Miller, each will serve 60 days in jail and will pay restitution for skimming about $76,000 from the plant, which had operated in Alma for more than 54 years before closing due to the Millers' mismanagement, according to Wabaunsee County Attorney Jack Turner. The judge sentenced Kimberly Miller to 6 months in prison and Aaron Miller to 12 months, but granted them each probation so long as they serve 60 days in jail, Turner said.
