Gone fishin': Plans under way for Governor's Fishing Classic, golf
tournament May 23-24

A month or so ago, Harlan Priddle was standing on the shores of
Coffey County Lake, sadly shaking his head.
The lake, which had just opened to fishing after being closed
after the Sept. 11 attacks, was woefully low, by almost 10 feet. No
way you could get a boat on the water.
And Priddle, the president of the Kansas Wildscape Foundation, was
hoping to get 50 boats on the water in a month. That's the date of
the sixth annual Governor's Fishing Classic.
