Article: Pair charged in connection with Topeka bank robbery

Federal charges were filed Friday against a Topeka man in connection with the robbery this week of Lyndon State Bank and a June bank robbery.

U.S. Attorney Eric Melgren said Friday that Larry D. Merriweather, 21, was charged with two counts of bank robbery and three counts of using and carrying a gun during the bank robberies. Merriweather is charged in connection with an armed robbery and shooting of a security guard Thursday morning at Lyndon State Bank, 1535 S.W. Fairlawn Road.
