Article: Planners oppose salvage yard

An auto salvage yard at 417 S.E. 13th shouldn't be approved because of its proximity to Williams Magnet School, the Monroe School and the Freedom Pathway Trail.

That is the recommendation of the Topeka-Shawnee County Planning Agency to the Topeka City Council. The council will be asked to approve an application Tuesday night from Jerry L. Penner to operate a salvage yard on a 1.41-acre site there.
