Last week proved to be a back-to-school week for more than
just the youngsters. In the continuing education of America's
consumers, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a
load of product recalls. Among them:
For those who think it's not the heat, it's the humidity,
consider Duracraft Corp.'s recall of about 1 million humidifiers.
The company already has received 85 reports these humidifiers are
overheating and catching fire or producing smoke -- in some cases
causing major property damage.
If you own a Duracraft humidifier purchased from January 1991
through June 1996 for about $40 to $80, check its model number,
