Article: Breast Cancer Bills Need Undivided Attention

There's a lot we don't know about breast cancer, but there is
one thing we know for sure: It attacks Republican and Democratic
women alike with savage impartiality.
You'd think, then, that the Republicans, the party of the
Grand Old Gender Gap, would be as anxious as the Democrats to modify
the insurance industry's behavior so that it provides more humane
coverage of breast cancer patients.
But you'd be wrong.
The Republican leadership of the House has so far refused to
even schedule hearings on two bills that would do that. The Senate
has not scheduled hearings on companion bills, either.
