DANCE PLACE is not just a performing venue and studios for
classes; it's also home to a stable of resident companies. The six
groups -- Carla Perlo's Carla & Company, Deborah Riley Dance
Projects, Images of Cultural Artistry Inc., Lesa McLaughlin &
Dancers, Nanfoule Folkloric Dance Ensemble and Quiescence -- are
each presented annually by Dance Place, but this weekend is a rare
chance to see them all at once. Titled, appropriately, "The Taste of
Dance Place," the performances will offer a groaning array of modern
dance of different stripes, improvisation, dance as a mode of
healing and West African dance and drumming.
