Article: Coach hopes Garden will grow again Bob Larson Coming off 5-5 finish in 2003

The offseason seemed like the longest of Garden City coach Bob Larson's five-year tenure.

That's the way it goes when you have a losing record in any of the eight junior college football towns in the Jayhawk Community College Conference, but especially at Garden City, where last year's 5-5 finish stood as the first non-winning record since 1993 and fell short of a bowl game for the first time in a decade.

The Broncbusters started 2003 badly, losing three of their first four, and ended it badly, losing two of their last three. But in the 10 months since, Larson has worked to return the atmosphere and attitude of his players and coaches to that of the good ol' days.
