After nearly 50 years as a bowling destination in Topeka, AMF
Meadow Lanes will close its doors for good by the end of this month.
Mike Anderson, a spokesperson for AMF Bowling, which operates
Meadow Lanes under a lease agreement, said Tuesday the bowling
center, located at 3118 S.W. Topeka Blvd., will close May 29.
"I do not know the exact reason (for the closing)," Anderson said
from the company's headquarters in Richmond, Va.
"What I do know , which is not a lot, is that Meadow Lanes is a
leased facility --- we do not own the property --- and the closing
date is May 29."
Bob Thompson, the bowling center's current manager, said he could
not comment on ...
