Article: Monopoly tournament players hope to pass go, collect win

At the Monopoly tournament held Sunday in Topeka, the players had their own Mr. Pennybags to oversee the proceedings.

Jim Eddy was decked out in a tuxedo, a Fred Astaire-style top hat and black shoes buffed and polished with enough elbow grease to make a military officer proud. He had a cane in one hand and a bullhorn in the other.

Eddy, a volunteer, was on hand for the Topeka White Lakes Optimist Club's fourth annual Monopoly Tournament at Fairlawn Plaza Mall. A sanctioned tournament, it is hosted by the Optimist Club with proceeds going to help youth at the Topeka Rescue Mission.
