A criminal case against the Rev. Fred W. Phelps Sr., which is rooted in Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign, surfaces again this week.

The district attorney's office wants to schedule a charge of disorderly conduct linked to picketing by Phelps, pastor of the Westboro Baptist Church, for trial, and Phelps wants the judge to dismiss the 6-year-old case. The hearing will be Friday in Shawnee County District Court. Phelps and the church are known for controversial anti-homosexual stances, picketing and a Web site.
