MANHATTAN --- It would seem North Texas is attempting to float a trial balloon to establish membership in the Big 12.

The 0-3 Eagles, who already have played Baylor and Texas Tech, will complete a three-game tour of the Big 12 at 1:10 p.m. Saturday when they play at Kansas State (3-0).

The ambitious schedule, which now is crafted by a pair of K-State graduates --- head coach Darrell Dickey and athletics director Craig Helwig --- is really nothing new for the Big West school.
