The 100-degree heat may be blistering to the body, but it is great
for the shaved ice business.
Kids and adults have been buying shave ice cones from Hawaiian
Shave Ice, a mobile business owned by Daryl Compton, Rick Avila,
Brent Aden and Stan Compton.
Their ice machine shaves blocks of ice into 24-ounce cones, which
are served with one, two or three flavors of syrup.
Every weekend, the partners take turns driving the trailer to
sporting events around the Midwest. Last weekend, they set up shop at
the Sunflower Soccer Association field in northwest Topeka. This ...
