Article: Washburn students cross the world to teach English

Visiting China to teach English to primary and middle school students proved educational for Linda Strick, a 49-year-old Washburn University graduate student.

"I think that we take for granted how easy our lives are in the U.S.," Strick said. "I couldn't believe the amount that people survive on. People just don't waste like we waste here. Yet even though they had very little, people were extremely clean and well- dressed. They had a lot of pride in themselves."
