LAWRENCE --- Two weeks ago, Kansas' football team embarrassed its fans. The fans almost returned the favor Saturday.

Drunk with emotion, and maybe something a little stronger, a small but militant group of students rushed the Memorial Stadium field after the Jayhawks' 23-15 win over Colorado and made a half-hearted attempt to bring down the south goal post.

There they hung for at least a minute, celebrating homecoming and slowly realizing that what they were doing wasn't quite right. The majority of the crowd booed, and coach Terry Allen detoured on his way to the locker room to ask them to dismount, which they did.

"Hopefully," Allen said, "we're beyond celebrating when you beat a 1-5 ...
