Several traditional and well-thought-out reasons exist why
Jacob G. Hornberger {"You Can't Vote for Us in Virginia," Close to
Home, July 6} and Russell T. Forte {"All But Banned From the
Ballot," Close to Home, July 20} are wrong about ballot access in
Virginia and Maryland.
Having worked inside mainstream politics for a number of
years, as Republican precinct coordinator for Maryland's 21st
legislative district (1994 to 1997) and more recently as Republican
volunteer coordinator for Prince George's County, I think both
writers miss certain valid points.
