Former Watergate figure calls for return to religious values in U.S.

Charles Colson, the former hatchet man for President Richard Nixon whose life underwent a transformation after a born-again experience 28 years ago, issued a clarion call for the return of Judeo- Christian values to public life Friday at the 40th annual Kansas Prayer Breakfast.

Colson, 69, who since 1976 has been head of Prison Fellowship International and is considered one of evangelical Christianity's top thinkers and defenders, made his remarks before a sold-out audience of 1,200 people at the Ramada Inn Downtown, 420 S.E. 6th.
