Georgetown resident Craig Masback has agreed to become
executive director of USA Track and Field, the national governing
body for the sport. An announcement reportedly will be made at a
news conference in New York Wednesday.
Masback will replace Ollan Cassell, who headed the
organization for 31 years.
A former world-class miler, Masback will relinquish his
position as an associate at the Washington law firm of Wilmer,
Cutler & Pickering and his role as a track and field television
analyst.
Masback, expected to earn in the neighborhood of
$200,000, takes over an organization with cash-flow and image
